摘要


隨著光纖通訊市場的發展,其相關元件及模組的研發亦如雨後春筍般地衍生而出,當中包含了:可調變式光衰減器、動態頻譜增益均衡器、波長可調變元件(如雷射光源及濾波器)等。使用微機電技術為基礎製作上述之元件或模組,早已成為學術界及業界的熱門研究主題;本文將針對此一範疇,作一詳盡的介紹。除了傳統的光纖通訊之外,自由空間光通訊也日漸受到矚目,本文亦將介紹以微機電技術為基礎之自由空間光通訊系統。

With the continuous growth of optical fiber communication, the development of related components and modules has been progressing. Variable optical attenuators (VOA), dynamic spectral equalizers (DSE), and wavelength-tunable devices (such as lasers and filters) are among those which are of great interest. The idea of using MEMS technologies to implement these devices has led to many hot research topics in both academia and industry. In this article, we not only provide a comprehensive introduction of the MEMS applications to optical fiber communication, but also bring to the readers' attention another field of growing interest, free-space optical communication.
