A Trend in the Management of Uterine Myomas: A Role of Laparoscopy

Uterine leiomyomas (fibroids, myomas) are one of the most common gynecologic tumors. More than 80% of women during the reproductive age are informed to have the diagnosis of uterine fibroids. Laparoscopy plays a critical role in the management of the uterine myomas. However, surgical techniques during laparoscopy in the management of the uterine fibroids are complicated. Some unusual complications happen. In this review, the role of laparoscopy in the management of uterine myomas is discussed.
