Pediatric rhinosinusitis is one of the most common disease in otolaryngology. The diagnosis and treatment for pediatric rhinoinusitis is more challenging. Recent changes in evaluation and management of rhinosinusitis in children and the influence of evidence-based medicine have revolutionized the way in which we philosophically approach this problem. In this presentation, we will review the embryology and development of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, and the definition and classification of pediatric rhinosinusitis. We will also identify the risk factors and predisposing conditions contributing to the development of rhinosinusitis in children, and further discuss management of pediatric rhinosinusitis. We believe this article could serve as a clinical reference for the evaluation and management of children with rhinosinusitis.
