摘要
目前鼻及鼻竇內視鏡手術已成爲治療慢性鼻及鼻竇炎手術之主流。當復發性鼻及鼻竇炎或慢性鼻及鼻竇炎在足夠藥物治療下仍無法改善時就成爲接受鼻及鼻竇內視鏡手術之主要適應症。其他的適應症還包括：阻塞性鼻癮肉，黴菌性鼻及鼻竇炎，黏液囊腫，眼眶周圍膿腫，淚囊鼻腔造口術(dacryocystorhinostomy)，眼眶減壓術(orbital decompression)，腫瘤切除，腦脊髓液滲漏(cerebrospinal fluid leak)修補，腦下垂體手術，視神經減壓術(optic nerve decompression)，後鼻孔閉鎖(choanal atresia)手術等箏。鼻竇的解剖學上的變異未必是造成慢性鼻及鼻竇炎的病因。冠狀平面電腦斷層檢查可以察覺鼻竇的解剖學上的變異，並預防發生嚴重的手術併發症。

Functional endoscopic sinus surgery has become a popular procedure for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery should be reserved for patients in whom intensive medical treatment failed. Anatomic variations of paranasal sinus may be the causes of chronic rhinosinusitis. Coronal CT scan can clearly reveal various anatomic variations for all sinuses and prevent dangerous operative complications. Surgical indications of endoscopic sinus surgery have been extended recently, Extensive polyposis, fungal sinusitis, orbital abscess, skull base defects with CSF leak, and sinonasal tumors can be successfully managed with endoscopic sinus surgery. Surgeon's experience, as well as skillful techniques, is imperative for endoscopic management of sinonasal diseases.
