Primary Thyroid-like Papillary Adenocarcinoma of the Nasopharynx-Case Report
類甲狀乳突鼻咽腺癌－病例報告

Primary thyroid-like low-grade nasopharyngeal papillary adenocarcinoma (TL-LGNPPA) is extremely rare, with only 13 cases having been reported. In contrast to nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) or thyroid cancer, TL-LGNPPA is a low-grade adenocarcinoma that is immunopositive for thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1). It is mostly treated by surgical resection, which has an excellent disease-free survival rate without reported recurrence. We describe a case of TL-LGNPPA in a 45-year-old male who was referred to our clinic for suspected NPC. The patient underwent potassium-titanyl- phosphate (KTP) laser-assisted endonasal endoscopic resection and remained free of recurrence or metastasis after 24 months of follow-up.
