Extra-Skeletal Chondroma in Parotid Gland-Case Report
腮腺内之骨骼外軟骨瘤－病例報告
摘要
Benign extra-skeletal cartilaginous tumors are uncommon and usually present as discrete and hard masses located in soft tissue. Extra-skeletal chondroma mostly affected the soft tissue of hands and feet; it occasionally derived from abdominal wall, and head and neck region. We present a first case of pure soft tissue chondroma arising from right parotid gland on an Asian woman. The entire specimen was processed for pathological examination and immunohistochemical study. In pathological finding, an encapsulated tumor entirely composed of mature hyaline cartilage was noted. No epithelial or myoepithelial elements could be identified. By immunohistochemical studies, the chondrocyte were positive for S100 and Vimentin and were negative for CD10, cytokeratin 5/6, smooth muscle actin, CAM 5.2 and MNF. Distinguishing parotid chondroma from other similar neoplasm entities is difficult, a through scrutinization is advised.

良性骨骼外軟骨性腫瘤並非常見且當發生在軟組織是相對的硬腫瘤。骨骼外軟骨瘤常見於手、腳的軟組織，偶爾也會發生在腹壁或頭頸部。我們報告的是位於1名女性病人右側腮腺的軟骨瘤。整體腫瘤樣本均經病理及免疫組織檢查。在病理方面，整個腫瘤被莢膜包覆内含成熟的透明軟骨，上皮及肌上皮則無法辨認。在免疫組織檢查方面，軟骨細胞呈現S100及Vimentin陽性反應；至於CD10，cytokeratin 5/6，smooth muscle actin，CAM 5.2及MNF則為陰性。因此，分辨腮腺内軟骨瘤和其他類似腫瘤並非易事，全盤詳審細查是必須的。
