內聚不全及調節力不足之手術治療－病例報告

Convergence insufficiency is one of the most common ocular problems. Orthoptic treatment of convergence insufficiency has been extremely successful in most cases. However, there is a small group of patients whose symptoms do not respond to orthoptics, glasses, prisms, tranquilizers, drugs or any form of medical ophthalmic therapy. In this series of patients, the following organic conditions played a role: (a) Accommodative insufficiency (b) Defective fusion (c) Defective accommodative and vergence mechanisms. The paper emphasized the importance of measuring the near point of accommodation in all patients with convergence insufficiency to identify those cases with accommodative weakness in whom orthoptic therapy must be considered a waste of time and effort. To enhance action of the medial rectus muscles is the only recource of treatment.
