Clinical Outcomes of Wavefront-Guided Laser in Situ Keratomileusis with Different Microkeratome Heads for the High Myopia-A Preliminary Study

不同角膜板層刀合併前導波雷射角膜原位成型術治療高度近視-初報

摘要

Purpose: To study and compare the visual outcomes of wavefront-guided laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) by Mona M2 microkeratomes using different blades for the treatment of high myopia and evaluate the complication rate during the operation and postoperatively. Methods: This retrospective study included 51 consecutive eyes of 27 patients (14 males & 13 females) whose spherical equivalence greater than -6 diopters treated with Visx S4 wavefront -guided LASIK from December 2004 to February 2005 and followed 6 months. Their mean age was 29.6 years. All patients underwent complete preoperative ophthalmologic examination, including wavefront aberrometer (VISX wavefront system). Final refraction, refractive changes, uncorrected visual acuity, ablation volumes, total aberrations, high order aberrations (HOA) were evaluated. Result: The patients were divided into three groups: Group I by Mona M2-90 head, Group Ⅱ by Mona M2, Med-logics M17050 blade and Group III by Mona M2-130 head. The data was analyzed by ANOVA method. Between the three groups, the differences of uncorrected visual acuity in 6 months postoperative were not significant (p>0.05). Total aberrations and high order aberrations in 6 months postoperative remained no statistically significance (p>0.05) Conclusion: The uncorrected visual acuity, total aberrations and high order aberrations of three groups achieved the same results in 6 months postoperatively.
