Information Reengineering from Conventional Programs to Object-Oriented Specifications

摘要


由於愈來愈多的企業組織,將他們舊有的資訊系統視為珍貴的有價資產,以及實行企業流程改造時維持競爭優勢的一個利器,如何從舊有的資訊系統進行資訊再工程已成為日益受到關注的課題。本研究在於陳述一知識庫元件的設計,以啟發式法則來支援部份資訊再工程的工作。利用這些啟發式法則,透過一系列的轉換步驟,傳統程式和檔案最後將被轉換成物件導向的設計規格。本研究將提出文獻中一些代表性的分析與設計原則,來佐證這些啟發式法則的合理性,轉換過程將以實例加以說明。如何應用啟發式法則到轉換過程的演算法亦將略加描述。最後,我們將說明本研究的結果在企業組織中的應用價值以及未來的研究方向。

Information reengineering from legacy systems has become a growing concern as more and more organizations perceive their legacy systems as valuable assets and the competitive edge in business process reengineering. This paper presents the design of knowledge based components in the form of heuristics to support information reengineering. Through several steps of transformation process by applying heuristic knowledge, conventional programs and files are eventually transformed into an object class diagram and a set of object action diagrams. The heuristics are presented with justification from representative analysis and design principles found in the literature. The transformation process is illustrated through examples. One of the algorithms that apply the heuristics to the transformation process is described. Business applications of this approach and future research are provided.
