Upgraded Seismic Streamer Systems onboard Ocean Researcher One: Results from the Field Tests

摘要

目前於台大海洋研究船上的海洋震測系統最初是在1984年所裝設的，在經過了數十個年頭，這組儀器也經歷過幾次的更新及升級。在此，我們將新型儀器所收集的震測訊號與原先舊型儀器所取得的資料做一個比較。我們利用新舊的多頻道接受器及紀錄器搭配同一種聲源訊號，在相同區域的炸測線上，當其他條件都雷同的情況下，我們發現由新儀器所接收到訊號較以往的資料品質更佳更好。由此可見，近期取得的新型固態接收電纜以及最新承載的紀錄器系統，能夠提供一個相當可靠的方式去提升海洋震測探勘資料的品質及效率。

The seismic instruments onboard R/V Ocean Researcher One of the National Taiwan University was first installed in 1984. Over the years, these instruments were upgraded several times. Here we report the improved data quality due to the new instruments and in-house data logging system, particularly the marine seismic streamers. We have repeated a seismic survey using both the old and new streamers with identical sources, and found dramatic improvement of the data quality collected by the new system. The recent acquired solid-state streamer and the newly setup of data logging system provide a very cost efficient way to improve marine seismic exploration surveys.
