我國國防支出與經濟成長關係之研究

摘要

本實証研究之目的，在探討我國國防支出與經濟成長之關係；確定兩者間關係對決定國防經費的多寡有重大之影響。本研究除直接觀察兩者之關係外，並觀眾兩者間之中介變項，期能更進一步了解國防支出影響經濟成長的途徑。實證結果顯示：我國國防支出與經濟成長呈現正效應關係；國防支出除了與債務支出之關係為正外與其它公共支出之關係皆為負，此顯示國防支出與其它公共支出間有替換（Trade-off）現象存在。使用逐步迴歸分析結果顯示國防支出為影響經濟成長之重要變數；並顯示我國國防支出不傷害經濟成長；因徑分析結果顯示，國防支出影響經濟成長之過程除存有直接效應外，並經由消費及投資來間接影響經濟成長。

The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between defense expenditure and economic growth of the Republic of China (hereafter ROC). The confirmation of this relationship can affect the allocation of defense budget significantly. In addition to examining the relationship directly, this paper explores its intervening variables and keeps the track of the economic growth. However, the negative relation of defense expenditure-other government expenditure. The result of the stepwise regression analysis shows that defense expenditure is an important variable to economic growth. The ROC defense expenditure is innocuous to her economic growth. The result of path analysis presents that the ROC defense expenditure do affect her economic growth. In addition, defense expenditure can affect indirectly the economic growth via consumption and investment.
