The purpose of this study was to understand the health conceptions of older women. Women aged over 65 years in three sub-wards of Shi-Lin District were visited with self-developed questionnaire. 574 questionnaires were returned and the response rate was 72.94%. The result revealed that the health conceptions of older women were: Jing-Chi-Shen moderation, happiness in mind, spiritual peace, feeling of control and expansion, absence of disease. These five factors accounted for 76.9% of variance in health conception. Nursing practice based on a multi-cultural approach was encouraged to meet the health needs of older women in order to provide nursing care for older women individually and humanistically.
