本類實驗性研究的目的是評價教學老人長期養護機構對老人照護成效及員工照顧老人知識的影響。五家老人長期養護機構隨機分組爲控制組及實驗組,實驗組由神經醫學教師、老人護理教師及物理治療教師各一名,第週三小時到實驗組參與示範教導。三個月介入措施的前後採用問卷方式測量老人照護成效。研究結果顯示現存健康問題平均數及身體約否平均天數在控制組配對的前後測中顯著的增加,而此兩項在實驗組未顯著增加。日常生活功能獨立程度及主觀健康受在兩組前後測皆無顯著的差異,實驗組工作人員照顧老人的知識顯著增加。教學老人長期養護機構提掝工作人員提供入住老人健康照護的知識,預防老人照護的負向成果。
The purpose of this quasi-experimental study was to evaluate the effects of in the teaching long-term care facilities on patient-care outcomes and knowledge of patient care. Five long-term care facilities were randomly assigned into a control group and an experimental group. In the experimental group, faculty from departments of neurology, nursing and rehabilitation provided teaching demonstrations 3 hours per week for 3 months. Outcomes of patient care were measured by questionnaires before and after the 3-month intervention. Results showed that the mean number of current health complaints and use of physical restraint was significantly increased in the control group, but not in the experimental group. The level of functional independence, or perceived health was not significantly different between pre-test and post-test in both groups. Staff in the experimental group had significantly increased their knowledge of elderly care after intervention. In conclusion, teaching in long-term care facilities, may have raised the nursing home staffs knowledge of how to provide health care for the elderly, resulting in prevention of negative patient-care outcomes.
