光擴散微粒於顯示與照明領域之研究及應用

摘要


高分子微粒子由於形狀和粒徑大小可依需要變化,粒子表面性質也可藉由不同改質方法而有多種機能性的應用,包括塗料、塑膠加工、OA產品、化妝品等領域;國內在粒子的產業中,因缺少1~10微米的精準合成技術與高值化產品應用驗證能力,這個規格範圍內的高分子微粒過去都是仰賴進口,關鍵材料無法掌握的衝擊尤其明顯。近年來隨著高效率顯示及照明全球市場的快速成長,使得粒徑適當分布且特性表現優異的高分子微粒子在顯示及照明產業的重要性日益突顯。本研究旨在開發光學調控用高分子共聚微粒子技術,協助國內產業開創相關的高值化產品市場。根據Semi估計全球顯示照明光學調控用光學級微粒子全球年需求量約為150噸,產值約為18億新台幣。光擴散微粒在顯示及照明領域的應用,雖然都是勻光的作用,但在顯示及照明應用所要求的性能仍有差異,前者強調耐高溫及耐高的剪切力以因應螺桿的操作及品質要求,後者著重在與光轉換材料的相容性及高透光度以強化節能效果;本研究所開發的光擴散微粒,在顯示應用上,成功通過一線背光模組廠的性能驗證;在照明應用上,透過與德國化工巨擘台灣分公司合作,成功開發護眼照明產品並上市銷售,這是實驗室規模即可將研發成果商品化的重要里程碑。

The polymer microparticles can be changed as needed due to the shape and size adjustment. The surface properties of the particles can also be applied to various functions by different modification methods, and the application of the polymer particles becomes so extensive, including coatings, plastic processing, OA products, cosmetics. In Taiwan, domestic in the particle industry, due to lack of accurate synthesis technology of 1~10 microns and high-value product application verification capabilities, The polymer particles in this specification range, the Taiwan market is close to 10 billion Taiwan dollars. In the past, it relied on imports. In recent years, with the rapid growth of high-efficiency display and lighting in the global market, the product variety has become more diversified, and the importance of polymer microparticles with suitable particle size and excellent performance in the display and lighting industry has become increasingly prominent. In view of this, the project aims to develop high-refractive-index copolymer microparticle technology for optical regulation, and assist the domestic industry to create a market for high-value products. According to Semi, the global annual demand for optical grade micro-particles for global illumination control is about 150 tons, and the output value is about NT$1.8 billion. The application of optical diffusion particles in the field of display and illumination, although they are all homogenized, there are still differences in the performance required for display and lighting applications. The former emphasizes the high temperature and high shear stress resistance to cope with the operation of the screw and quality requirements, the latter focuses on compatibility with fluorescent agents and high transparency to enhance energy-saving effects; the light diffusion particles developed in this study have successfully passed the performance verification of the leading backlight module factory in display applications. In lighting applications, through the combination of famous international large-scale Light conversion material and our diffusion particles, we have successfully developed eye-protection lighting products and sold them on the market. This is an important milestone in the commercialization of research and development results.
