摘要

地圖中地名是一項整體性的資料，地名不僅能顯示該地區之地理背景，並且也能提供圖示所無法描繪的重要現象。地名資料庫之建立在數值地圖具有同等之功能，故地名資料庫規劃之合宜與否，對於數值地圖之開展有其關鍵性之地位。本文之研究針對地圖中巨量、繁複的地名資料，研擬系統性之分類設計，以地名基本特性及編圖原則爲著眼點，並與地圖符號資料相互配合，期能據以規劃全國性地名資料分類體系之規範化模式。

The toponyms on the maps are integrated data. They can clearly illustrate the backgrounds of areas, and support the phenomena that symbols can't describe properly. Therefore the toponym database is also important in the digital map and has same functions. The appropriate planning of toponym database is the key to manage the digital map.
Thesis aim at the large and complicated toponyms in the maps, and make a symetic anti proper specification. According to above feature and map compilation, we can combine with asymbol data to the module of design the system of toponym standard specification and toponym database.
