A Study of GIS Application on the Visualization of Quantitative Cartographic Line Data: A Case Study of River Deposits Variation

摘要


隨著地理資訊系統軟體功能的持續更新,不僅在空間分析與應用能力方面不斷提升,且在地圖設計與展現上有更大的彈性與較佳之結果,使分析成果更具易讀性與說明性。本文即探討以地圖定量線符號設計概念,應用GIS於台灣東部花蓮壽豐溪河床沈積變化分析,並進行視覺化處理,將成果藉由主題地圖及動畫展現,使複雜之空間現象能在適切的符號設計上,具更佳之視覺效果。

Along with the rapid progress of GIS performance, the ability of spatial analysis and manipulation has been promoted vastly. The product quality of map-design and representation has also in advanced, and it is much more effective on result's readability and explanation. In this paper, the design theory of quantitatively cartographic line data that is used in GIS analysis on Sofon river deposits variation that placed in Hualien, eastern Taiwan, will be discussed, as well as the process of visualization. The various methods of thematic map representation and cartographic animation had been used for presenting and explaining the complex environmental phenomena. Via the use of designed symbol system by this study, the visual efficiency of the results was more effective and better-legible.
