摘要

本文主要是在說明「蘭嶼原住民媒體資料庫建置與數位典藏計畫」在設計Metadata與建檔系統方面的經驗以供同道參考。首先敘述「蘭嶼原住民媒體資料庫」的建置緣起與目的，並介紹該資料庫的收錄範圍與資料類型。其次，簡述國內外傳播多媒體資料庫之著錄元素的分析結果與特點，以作為規劃Metadata之基礎；進而說明設計和規劃Metadata的考量因素，以及各類資料的Metadata欄位。之後，介紹建檔系統的建置過程、建檔畫面與系統特點。最後，在結論部分提出該資料庫在後續發展所面臨的各項挑戰。

This article mainly describes the metadata development and system design of the Media Database of Orchid Island, including the purpose and the scope of the database, the considering factors and the elements of metadata, the process of system design, the interfaces of data input, and the characteristics of the system. In the part of conclusion, the challenges confronted by this system design are brought into the focus of discussion.
