A Case of Pulmonary Embolism Associated with the Use of Methyl-Testosterone

摘要

我們在此提出一個肺栓塞的個案報告。病人本身為骨髓再生不良症候群病患，並因此長期有貧血及血小板低下的症狀。為了改善病人的症狀，病人開始接受甲基睪酮的治療達23個月。然而病人卻因暈厥及血氧低下而被送至急診，電腦斷層發現在肺動脈有多處栓塞。在有相關症狀的病患，使用睪酮或其他雄性素類固醇應該讓我們提高警覺注意血管栓塞的可能性。

Here we report a case of pulmonary embolism. He has myelodysplastic syndrome and suffered from anemia and thrombocytopenia. Methyl-testosterone was therefore added in the regimen for 23 months. However, this patient presented to emergency department as syncope and hypoxemia. Computed tomography confirmed the emboli in the pulmonary arteries. In patients with relative symptoms, the use of testosterone and other anabolic-androgenic steroids should arouse the alertness of thromboembolism event.
