How to employ numerical methods to predict the dynamic behavior of underwater vehicles will become important in the near future. Over the past decade, the results obtained from the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods had been proven similar to that of experimental approach with the same test conditions. In order to reduce the computational time of such flow simulation, the concept of relative motion with body-fixed and fluid-moving scheme is usually employed as a conventional procedure to figure out the flow physics around moving bodies. However, the dynamic influence of fluid on a moving vehicle is self-evident and the relative motion mode of CFD can not fully capture the flow physics around them. To achieve the research goal, the dynamic mesh technique was applied in the present research for capturing the interaction between the moving body and fluid. Based on the mesh regeneration and interpolation techniques, the present numerical method, which is very practical for the unsteady flow computation, could be used to predict the trajectory of a moving body. Furthermore, it also could benefit ocean engineers to predict the maneuvering capability of a modern underwater vehicle.
