摘要

鴉片戰爭使國人因主客觀因素，移植東南亞各地，載諸近代史籍，斑斑可考，歷來因而旅居斯地而安家落戶者更僕難數。
本文以砂拉越布魯克王朝華人建樹的命題為研究中心，藉文化人類學(Cultural Anthropology)的相關角度，探討華人在異邦拓殖求存中之與自然地理、人文社會、價值取向等因素的關聯性，並解析其相應的歷史問題及因果關係，從而發展成今日華人社會的生活型態，冀期賦予恰如其份的評價。

There are many historical records to prove that Opium War resulted in the immigration to Southeast of countless Chinese people.
The article focused on the contributions of the Chinese in Brooke Dynasty, Sarawak. By means of the aspects of Cultural Anthropology, the natural geography, human society, value systems, relevant historical problems, the survival and cultivation of the Chinese, and the modern life style of the Chinese society were discussed. The article also provided appropriate evaluation for the conclusion.
