The isomeric dichlorophenols were separated by high-performance liquid chromatography using HP-β-cyclodextrin as mobile phase additives. Effects of HP-β-CD concentration and methanol content of mobile phase on the separation of isomeric dichlorophenols were investigated. Chromatogram of six isomeric dichlorophenols shows that the effective separations were achieved on a RPC18 stationary phase using 1.25mM HP-β-cyclodextrin as mobile phase additives. The chromatographic results indicate that inclusion complexes play a dominant role in the retention mechanism.
