An Indigenous PC-Based Ship Simulator Incorporating the Hydrodynamic Numerical Model and Virtual Reality Technique

以個人電腦結合流體動力數值方法與虛擬實境技術之本土化操船模擬器

摘要


本論文結合流體動力數值方法與虛擬實境技術發展出一套以個人電腦為基礎的本土化操船模擬器。為了簡化起見,假設平水中之船舶操縱性運動與波浪中耐海性船體運動互相不干擾而可單獨處理。船舶操縱性方面以日本MMG數學模型為基礎,配合利用流體動力係數及相關計算資料之經驗預估法。船體耐海性運動以二維源點分佈法之截片理論為基礎,建立波浪中船體運動量資料庫。結合船舶操縱性運動與耐海性船體運動構成一套可用於波浪中的操船模擬數值系統,再透過虛擬實境技術發展出本論文的整合系統。本文之虛擬實境系統主要利用World Tool Kit(WTK)以及3D Studio Max軟體來建構完成。並透過3D立體眼鏡、三槍投影機、投影螢幕、操作平台等周邊硬體設備來達到擬真效果。本系統為第一套以個人電腦為基礎且直接結合流體動力數值方法的本土化虛擬實境操船模擬器,其建構成本低廉,相當經濟實用,將可有效提供船員做為波浪中操船訓練之模擬應用。

In the paper, a simulation method incorporating the hydrodynamic numerical model and virtual reality technique is developed to simulate a ship maneuvering in waves. In order to make simulation feasible, the seakeeping model and MMG maneuvering model are assumed to be independent because of the complexity of the coupling effects. Therefore the coupling motion effects between seakeeping and maneuvering are neglected. Based on the strip theory, the source distribution method is adopted to construct the database of ship motions and offers the MMG model oscillation motion behaviors. The virtual reality technique is applied to simulate the ship operating in waves using related software, World Tool Kit (WTK). The compact simulation hardware system including 3D stereo glasses, projector, screen, operation platform, personal computer, and some related peripheral facilities is driven by the numerical hydrodynamic model to simulate a ship maneuvering in waves. The system developed here is PC-based and is the first indigenous ship simulator incorporating the numerical hydrodynamic model and virtual reality technique. The integrated simulating system is economic and can be used as an efficient training tool for operating ships in waves.
