The fastener forming is mainly designed according to the geometric characteristics of the product. This paper discusses the fastener forming process parameters with flange and flattening characteristics, and discusses the interaction effects of different feature forming. The effect of process parameters on the formability of the flange was discussed by Taguchi method. The process parameters included feature size, material model and forming conditions. The most influential design factors were identified by CAE analysis. In addition, the end flattening analysis is used to evaluate the flange size variation caused by material flow during flattening. The multi-action forming restrains the flow of the material during the flattening to reduce the amount of deformation of the flange, and the dimensional accuracy of the flange and the flattening feature can be improved.
