Transformation and Abnormal Formation: Study on the Metaphorical and Poetic Use of Languages

摘要


變形是現代詩語的特徵之一,它表現為「遠取譬」的大跨度畸聯。變形的圖式目的,在於破壞固有的自然聯繫性。好的變形是既能改變能指的「形態」,又能讓所指發生意義變遷,獲致更具喻指意義的深度—變意。變形大體呈現出優美與怪誕兩大系列。為糾偏過分的變形,有人以現象學為根據提出不變形或少變形,乃至反變形觀點。但不管變形的多與少,其成功與否,最終還得接受張力與詩意的檢驗。

Transformation is one of the significant features of modern poetry, and it makes the most use of abnormal formation, which is seen as a sort of metaphor called ”Yuan Chi Pi”. The purpose of transformation is to break the natural link between languages. A good transformation can not only change the formation of the signifier but also the signified and to make it more metaphorical. Transformation of poetic languages brings both beauty and eeriness. However, in order to avoid too much transformation, some people insist the languages should be untransformed, less transformed or even de-transformed. Transformed or not, the use of language has better be poetic and tense enough.
