The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) and physical energy expenditure (METs). By the method of epidemiology main questionnaire the revised URTI surveys were used for data collection in the study. 470 validate questionnaires were obtained including three groups of Marathon,10K runners & sendentary workers, form 25 to 50 years of age male subjects. After ANOVA statistical analyses, the results were concluded as the following: The triers with different athelete background have significant evidence (p<0.5), no matter in the infections' volume of disease days. The sympotoms and severity of sendentary workers are more significant than Marathon and 10K runners. There is significant difference in symptoms and severity of URTI for the different groups has the highest inclination in symptoms and severity of URTI, the moderate METs groups has the lowest inclination. And the high METs group possesses in the middle of circumstance. Moderate physical activities can reduce the rate and degree of upper respiratory tract infection, therefore, sendentary workers should arrange regular time for activities or increase the opportunity of dynamic activities in order to reduce the anxiety in infection of upper respiratory tract.
