Husserl on Lifeworld, Rationality and Europe

摘要


本論文藉由生活世界概念的雙重涵義來探討胡塞爾的文化思想。胡塞爾的歐洲理念顯示出濃厚的歐洲中心主義思想,對其他文化多所貶抑。晚近的現象學家對此觀點強烈批判者有之,忠實追隨者亦有之。本文除了闡述這些不同的論點,亦嘗試從東亞的角度對胡塞爾及其後繼者的論述作出回應。

In this paper I explore Husserl's thought on culture by introducing the twofold meanings of lifeworld. Husserl has a strong Eurocentric position as he demonstrates the idea of Europe and the evaluation of other cultures. The recent discussions on Husserl's thought of culture diversify tremendously. On the one hand, one sees sharp criticisms by Holenstein and Waldenfels. On the other hand, Held and Sepp show great sympathy with Husserl. On the basis of these reactions to Husserl, the present paper tries to work out a cultural standpoint from the angle of East Asia in order to respond to the Eurocentrism in Husserl.
