論航空產業的全球化與策略聯盟

Globalization and Strategic Alliances in the Airline Industry

摘要


全球化已成為一股銳不可擋的商業趨勢。對許多企業而言,以全球化為目標,策略聯盟為手段是維持和提昇競爭優勢的主要方式之一。在空運市場中,儘管各大航空公司在部分市場相互競合已行之有年,國際航空產業高度管制的特性一直以來被視為是航空業全球化發展的阻礙。因此,跨國性策略聯盟的普及可被視為是對航空業全球化的具體實踐。本研究初始探討全球化的形成,航空業全球化的歷程以及應運而生的策略聯盟;進而分析策略聯盟對航空產業結構引發的衝擊及,並提供我國與美國對相關議題之政策比較。

Globalization is an inevitable trend for many industries. As business strives to attain and defend competitive advantage, strategic alliances have become a crucial part of this globalization process. In the airline industry, intensive regulation tends to be the major barrier of globalization; therefore, the popularity of alliances among carriers has been regarded as the implementation of globalization. This paper first presents the evolution of aviation globalization; in addition, it describes current development of airline alliances and its impacts on market structure. It also discusses government policy toward alliances in the US and Taiwan.
