Managing Universities in the Global Society

Knowledge is a phenomenon of the global society participating in increasing of welfare of both the enterprises and the society. Higher education guarantees the development of knowledge technologies as well as their transfer among producers, professionals and the public. New global environment and knowledge economy require providing of changes in the curriculum and in study plans, in research direction and enlargement of higher education to adult population. Facing these changes universities have to continually change their inner structure and managerial styles. Methodical analysis of environment and identification of possible transformations leading to some type of network university are presented in the article. Organisation and management of the network university have similar character as network organisation/enterprise and is able to ensure educational needs of the global society.
