The Effects of a Peer Group Teaching Consultation Program on Teacher Educators' Student Ratings

摘要


本研究主要是探討同儕團體教學諮詢方案對教育大學教師在「學生評鑑教師教學」得分影響之研究。研究對象為國立花蓮教育大學教師,包含實驗組二十一位教師以及控制組二十一位教師。實驗組接受同儕團體教學諮詢方案;控制組則無。同儕團體教學諮詢方案包含學生期中的教學回饋議意見以及針對回饋的意見進行同儕教學團體諮詢。兩組在期末同時接受校方的學生評鑑教師教學。研究工具有二,一為「國立花蓮師範學院教學意見反映調查表」共包含四個層面:「準備與計畫」、「教材與內容」、「教法與技巧」、「作業與評量」;二為「教師回饋問卷」,包含三個開放性問題。研究結果顯示在實驗組和控制組教師在期末學生評鑑教師教學得分方面並沒有顯著差異存在。不過實驗組教師對同儕團體教學諮詢方案表示肯定。研究發現和過去的文獻有些不同,本研究依據研究結果提出有關教學諮詢以及學生評鑑教師教學之建議。

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a peer teaching consultation program on modifying the dimensions of teaching as measured by the feedback from student ratings of the quality of teacher educators' instruction. An experimental posttest design was used to conduct the study and test the formulated hypotheses. The treatment group consisted of 21 teacher educators from the National Haulien University of Education and the control group consisted of another 21 teacher educators from the same institute. The consultation program used in the study was midterm ratings student feedback combined with peer teaching consultation, which consisted of a semester seminar on the dimensions of teaching. The Student Ratings of Instruction form was used to measure students' perceptions of instructors' teaching effectiveness. The Teacher Feedback form was implemented to interview the faculty treatment group's perspective of the consultation program. The quantitative data indicated no statistical difference in the student ratings of teacher educators who participated in the peer consultation and those who did not. The qualitative data indicated change in experimental faculty's approaches to their teaching. Although the findings of this study differ from findings of some previous experimental research examining this phenomenon, there are implications that are applicable to research and educational practices.
