In the development of geotextiles, the mechanical properties are quite important. We usually use the ways of reinforcement to increase the strength of geotextiles. It can increase the function of geotextiles. On the other hand, it can increase the uses of geotextile. In this study, we use the filament to reinforce the geotextiles. At first we lay the filament on the nonwoven fabrics after being pre-spread by the friction roller, then overlapped by the other nonwoven fabric to form sandwich structure before needle punching. Thus we can produce filament reinforced nonwoven. We discuss the effects of the initial modulus of the filament reinforced nonwoven with various factors that include unit weight of nonwoven fabrics, number of filament bundle, unit weight of filament, needle punching density and condition of filament being spread. We further study the behavior of the whole system being reinforced by filament in the structure.
