在六龜試驗林的6年生台灣櫸與台灣赤楊混合人工林內,我們設置10個臨時樣區進行林木的樹高與胸徑調查,並分析表土的pH,全氮量及有機物含量。10個樣區中有5個是台灣櫸樣區,5個是台灣櫸與台灣赤楊混合的樣區,混合比在l:1與2:1之間。目前該林分尚未鬱閉,但台灣赤楊的高生長平均達6-6.5m,台灣櫸平均則在4-4.3m之間,形成二段林相。在台灣櫸與台灣赤楊混合區內,土壤表層的全氮量與有機物含量雖有較高的趨勢,土壤表層的pH值雖有較低的趨勢,但在統計上並不顯著。我們將此情況加以討論,並期望在幾年後,林冠鬱閉時再行調查,進一步確定赤楊對本混合林的生長與相關土壤性質的影響。
Ten plots of varying sizes were selected in a 6-year-old mixed plantation of Zelkova formosana and Alnus formosana in order to survey tree height and dbh, and to analyze soil pH, total N, and organic matter content at depths of 0-15 and 15-30cm. Five plots were composed entirely of zelkova trees, and the other 5 plots were composed of zelkova and alder mixed with ratios between 1:1 to 2:1 (zelkova:alder). The results show that at present, the alder and zelkova mixed plots have a two-story structure with alders forming the upper story. The growth of zelkova in both kinds of plots showed no difference. The soil pH, total N, and organic matter content in the plots of mixed tree species were higher compared with those in the plots of pure zelkova trees, but the differences were not statistically significant. The possible reasons for these are discussed, and a resurvey after canopy closure in this plantation in several years will be performed to confirm the point of view discussed in this paper.
