Notes on Neanotis (Rubiaceae) in Taiwan

摘要

臺灣的臺灣新耳草(Neanotis formosana (Hayata) Lewis)以往的分類文獻中將其處理為涼喉茶(N. hirsuta (L. f.) Lewis)。本研究確定臺灣新耳草的存在，並進一步確認涼喉茶的特徵。臺灣新耳草的特徵為花序頂生，2~10朵叢生於5~10 mm的總花梗上，花徑大於5 mm；而涼喉茶則是花序腋生稀頂生，1~4朵花叢生於0~4 mm的花梗上，花徑小於3 mm。本文並提供它們的分類處理、繪圖、照片以供參考。

In Taiwan, Neanotis formosana (Hayata) Lewis. has been identified as N. hirsuta (L. f.) Lewis. In this paper, we clarify the identify of N. formosana in the flora of Taiwan and further document N. hirsuta in Taiwan. Neanotis formosana is characterized by a terminal inflorescence, cyme, 2~10-flowered in fascicles with peduncles 5~10 mm long; and flowers ＞ 5 mm wide. Neanotis hirsute has an axillary inflorescence, rarely terminal, 1~4-flowered, with peduncles 0~3 mm long; and flowers ＜ 3 mm wide. Taxonomic treatment, line drawings, and photographs are provided herein.
