Uncertainty is a changeable perception which can impair one's ability to appraise an event and therefore limit coping processes. Walker and Avant (1988) state that concept analysis can clearly test the attributes and characteristics of ”uncertainty”. In order to improve quality of clinical practice for children with cancer, nurses must understand and clarify the parental coping abilities and difficulties. The ultimate goal of this paper is to provide information that will help nurses to deal with parental uncertainty when nurses care for children with cancer.
