急診留觀區病患之需求探討

Patient's Needs in the Observation Room of the Emergency Department

摘要


本研究採橫斷式研究設計。其目的在探討急診留觀區病患的需求及相關因素。自北部某醫學中心之急診留觀區病患,以簡單隨機抽樣法,共抽取130位研究對象。研究工具包括需求量表、健康內外空制量表及基本資料。以描述性分析:t-test、ANOVA test及Pearson's,Correlation進行資料分析。結果顯示:一、病患主要的需求類別爲「病況相關訊息」。二、病患自評最需要之需求項目是「等多久才有病房」。三、病患的教育程度、婚姻、研究醫院急診就醫經驗、非轉診、檢傷級數及科別會影響其自評需求的結果。研究結果可提供急診醫護人員對急診留觀區病患需求的進一步瞭解。若能建立急診留觀區內諮詢系統,以幫助病患能及時獲得並滿足其需求,則可降低其焦慮程度,進而提昇急診留觀區病患的照護品質。

The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to explore patients' needs and related factors in the observation room of the emergency room department at a medical center in northern Taiwan. A total of 130 patients were recruited in the study using a simple random sampling method. A patient needs questionnaire, a Health Locus Control questionnaire, and demographic questions were used to collect data. Descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA test, and Pearson's Correlation were performed in the data analyses. Results revealed the following. First, getting information related to illness was the main patient need. Second, the question most frequently responded to as important was ”How long do I need to wait for admission?” Three, the variables significantly affecting patient needs were education, marital status, emergency room experiences, transfer from other hospitals, triage level, and disease pattern. Findings suggest nurses need to be aware of patients' needs in the observation room of the emergency: department. Establishing standards for conveying medical information and emergency observation room protocols to patients will help meet their needs and allay their anxieties and improve the quality of care.
