『臺灣教科用書國民讀本』における地理歴史関連の扱いについて

探討『臺灣教科用書國民讀本』中與地理歷史相關的內涵｜About the Depiction of Geography and History in『Textbook for reading Japanese for Taiwanese』

摘要

本稿は、台湾の日本植民地時代に編纂された日本語読解教材『臺灣教科用書國民讀本』について、特に地理歴史に関する記述箇所に着目し、その内容分布と位置付けを考察したものである。分析対象は植民統治下住民に対する教育政策で編纂された読解教材で、日本語教育と地理歴史教育という二面性を持ち合わせている。本研究ではその日本語教育の教材に含まれる地理歴史の分量とその位置付けを明らかにしたい。分析結果として次の3点が浮き彫りになった。1点目は、対象教材全体の1/3強に当たる割合で地理歴史関連の取扱いが見られた。2点目に、地理については記述内容が日本と台湾でほぼ同量であったが、歴史についてはその9割が日本史を扱うという偏りが見られた。3点目に、教材が後半へ進むにしたがい、地理歴史関連知識の占める度合いが大きくなっている。本研究を通して、歴史的日本語読解教材においての地理歴史関連知識に関する重要な位置付けが確認できた。

本文探討日本殖民地時期在台灣使用的日語教材『臺灣教科用書國民讀本』中，論及地理歷史相關的要素內涵，並評論其定位。本研究對象是殖民地時期日本對台灣民眾進行的教育政策下所編纂的讀本教材，兼具語言教學功能與包含文化要素的地理歷史教育的雙面向，本文擬釐清語言教育的教材中地理歷史內涵的定位關係。本文所得結果有三：其一是讀本教材中地理歷史相關內涵佔1/3以上；其二是地理方面日本和台灣的描述分量幾乎相同，但歷史方面90％的描述偏向日本歷史；其三是越到高階的段階，提供越多關於地理歷史的知識。因此透過本研究能夠確認歷史上的日語讀本教材中，地理歷史要素的內涵知識有其重要的定位。｜This paper focuses on the Textbooks compiled during the colonial period by Japan『Textbook for reading Japanese for Taiwanese』, especially about the description of geography and history, and examines its contents. The object of analysis is reading materials compiled for Taiwanese under colonial rule. These materials have two aspects of Japanese language education, and geography and history education. In this study, I would like to clarify the amount of geography and history contained in these materials and their positioning. As a result of the analysis, the following three points became clear. 1, There were geography and history related description in 1/3 of the study materials. 2, Regarding the description of geography, the content of Japan and Taiwan was almost the same, but the description of history, more than 90% was Japanese history. 3, There were more descriptions of geography and history later in the materials. Through this study, I have confirmed the important position of geography and history-related knowledge in historical Japanese reading comprehension materials.
