國小實習教師歷程檔案評量工具發展之研究

Portfolio Assessment and the Professional Growth of Teaching Interns

摘要


本研究主要目的在發展適合國民小學實習(代理)教師歷程檔案評量之工具,希望能藉由實習教師在實習期間收集歷程檔案資料的評量策略來評量並引導實習教師的專業成長。我國國民小學採包班制,多數國小老師都必須教兩種以上的學科,所以本研究所發展的評量工具,實際上是可以應用在自然科、數學科、社會科以及國語科等一般教學。本研究以質的研究為主、量化統計數據為輔,採用問卷調查、座談會、觀察及訪談等方法收集資料,以了解哪些是實習教師在實習期間,所應該以及所能表現的歷程檔案評量項目;並試著去實地觀察以及評估十三位實習教師建立歷程檔案資料時所產生的問題,以探究這種評量策略的可行性。研究結果發現:問卷調查部分,在196份有效問卷中,有90%以上在國小任教五年以上的教師認為本研究所發展的四大歷程檔案評量項目:教學能力方面、班級經營方面、如何評量學生的學習方面、教師的專業素養等方面,以及十七個子項目對實習教師的教學專業表現是“非常重要”與“重要”的項目。另外,在實際實施時,經過研究者檢視歷程檔案資料,以及經由訪談使用過此種評量策略的實習教師、國小輔導教師以及師院指導教授,發現他們都認為這些評量項目明確,所以有助於引導實習教師在實習期間反省思考能力的培養,進而增進實習教師的教學專業發展。但是實施時,如果使用指引不夠清楚或國小輔導教師不願意給予指導或不願意協助實習教師進行歷程檔案評量,則此種評量策略將受到限制。

The major purpose of this study was to develop a portfolio assessment method suitable for assessing the professional growth of a beginning teacher in elementary education. The items in the portfolio assessment were derived from qualitative data gathered through questionnaires completed by experienced teachers, interviews and group discussions with both experienced and intern teachers. Over 90% of the 196 experienced teachers returned questionnaires indicating that the four main items (with 17 sub-items) developed in this research possessed a strong consensus. These items included teaching skill, classroom management, assessment of student learning, and teacher professionalism. The portfolios of thirteen intern teachers were developed in order to investigate the effectiveness and practical aspects of this assessment approach. After examining the resulting portfolio, interviewing the interns and mentors as well as the supervising college directors, it was obvious that the assessment was helpful in guiding the interns in teaching and reflective thinking. The results also indicate that cooperation and support by mentors during the administration of this assessment approach are essential for successful implementation.
