You Don't Always Get What You Want: Exploring the Share House Living Experience

摘要

This study explored the experiences of young people living in share houses in Melbourne, Australia. Qualitative interviews were conducted with ten people who are currently residing in a household with at least one unrelated member. The results demonstrate that share house living can affect individual lived experiences of home; especially when it comes to how physical and material spaces within the dwelling are utilized and organized, and the types of interactions that occur between housemates.

本研究為要探討國際青年在澳洲共宅的生活經驗，研究者透過半結構式的訪談一窺共宅生活經驗中對於家的定義，訪談主要分析受訪者如何在共宅經驗中反映個人的家庭生活樣貌，以及在共享空間的互動與社交模式，研究結果發現，受訪者藉由共宅的生活經驗，再次思考個人生活中所需的家庭生活元素，並且在互動中尋求生活中的平衡。
