醫學系學生的人文關懷調查研究

The Investigation of Intention about Humanity Care in Medical Students

摘要


爲了解醫學生人文關懷之現況,以國內慈濟大學、高雄醫學大學及成功大學醫學系461位學生進行問卷調查。結果顯示,在「助人熱誠」及「病患關懷」方面,三所大學高低年級學生皆有高度助人及關懷病人的熱誠,彼此並無明顯差異。在「社會服務意願」方面,三所大學醫學生皆樂於一年花一到三星期參加義診;至於利用假期到偏遠地區義診,慈濟大學低年級學生之意願顯著高於高雄醫學大學學生;但高雄醫學大學高年級學生則較慈濟大學學生意願高。在「醫師專業職責」方面,慈濟大學低年級高年級學生之意願則比慈濟大學學生高;且兩個大學低年級學生之意願均較高年級學生者爲高。綜合而言,三所學校低年級之醫學生都比較理想化,也許和醫學人文課程大都開設於大一到大三有相當程度之關系。惟高年級同學或或因接近職場而反應更務實,或因人文教育課程之延宕效果有限,其理想化之情況隨時日遞減。如何使醫學人文關懷教育結果能延續到任職,值得再深入研究。

For evaluating the intention about humanity care in three medical schools of Taiwan, a questionnaire was designed, and the response from 461 medical students was evaluated. The survey consisted of 10 items questioning the intention of ”enthusiastically helping others”, ”social service” and ”fulfilling medical responsibilities” and ”caring about patients”. There was no significant difference between the intentions of medical students, both early and late in their period of study, in respect to ”enthusiastically helping others” and ”caring about patients”. However, when relating to ”social service” and ”fulfilling medical responsibilities”, Tzu-Chi medical juniors (first and third year students) had a significantly higher intention than those at Kaohsiung Medical School and Cheng- Kung Medical School, respectively. Yet the results became reversed when medical seniors (sixth and seventh year students) were evaluated. Medical juniors seemed more idealistic in all the medical schools. Medical seniors seemed less idealistic, maybe due to the increasing influence of realistic social considerations in economic and professional aspects, and the decreasing impact of humanity courses taken in their early study period. To improve a tendency towards decreasing humanitarian character in medical seniors, some research should be carried out to figure out methods to improve it. (Full text in Chinese)
