台灣職能治療師之研究導向初探

Research Orientation of Occupational Therapists in Taiwan-A Preliminary Study

摘要


目的:台灣職能治療界近年來開始推行實證職能治療,然而目前尚無研究探討台灣職能治療界推行實證治療之成效,包括治療師的研究導向行為是否增強。因此,本研究的目的為探討台灣職能治療師之研究導向,即對於研究的重視、參與,以及新知的接受和研究資訊臨床運用情形。方法:研究對象為411位高雄市、台北市及台灣省職能治療師公會之會員,填寫基本資料與艾德蒙頓研究導向量表(Edmonton Research Orientation Survey,簡稱EROS)。結果:台灣職能治療師之EROS量表總分平均為139.42(SD=20.30, n=411,範圍為89-190),四個次量表之平均分數為22.49-37.06分。結論:目前台灣職能治療師對研究及實證治療為中等程度的重視及參與,且在研究的參與、新知的接受及實證治療臨床運用情況與加拿大地區類似,仍有改善之餘地。未來應在大學教育中增加實證職能治療課程,舉辦與研究及實證治療相關之在職教育,並積極鼓勵臨床治療師進修,建立台灣職能治療線上行動研究團體等,以促進實證職能治療的推展,進一步提升職能治療的專業性,並落實提供優質醫療服務之理念。

Objective: Evidence-based practice (EBP) has been promoted in Taiwan recently. However, the effectiveness of the EBP promotion has not been examined. The aim of the study was to examine the research orientation of occupational therapists using the Edmonton Research Orientation Scale (EROS). Research orientation (RO), including valuing research, research involvement, being at the leading edge about current research literature, and implementing evidence- based practice, was used as an index to measure the effectiveness of the EBP promotion. Methods: 411 members recruited from Kaohsiung, Taipei and Taiwan occupational therapist unions, completed a questionnaire on demographic information and the EROS. Results: The average of the EROS total score was 139.42 (SD=20.30, n=411, ranging from 89 to190), and the four subscale scores ranged from 22.49 to 37.06, which were in the moderate level. The EROS scores were different between therapists with different demographic characteristics. But the scores of Taiwanese respondents appeared to be similar to Canadian scores. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the occupational therapists in Taiwan had a moderate research orientation. It is suggested that providing more courses and opportunities related to the EBP in the higher education system and continuing education, encouraging clinicians to take continuing education, and establishing the online action research group are necessary to improve the implementation of the EBP, profession's advancement, and provision of high quality occupational therapy.
