Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Taiwan: Implications for Occupational Therapy Education

摘要

There is a desperate need for the transition of health care professional education from face-to-face education to e-learning because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Post pandemic changes in the behavior of patients seeking occupational therapy services mark the need for the ongoing transformation of occupational therapy education for strategic plans to meet the need for occupational therapy services inside and outside the hospital setting. To achieve the goal, occupational therapy educators need to study the processes of teaching and learning to make effective use of modern technology to provide online courses and instruction. To investigate the experiences of tutors and learners of clinical training courses given online, an evaluation protocol for the study of the elements of effective e-learning needs to be formulated.
