In view of highly competition in today's shipping market, strategic cost management and process improvements are essential to the success of meeting customers needs and further ensure the company's survival and growth. This article is to introduce the concept of process stability and capability of daily work processes in shipping industry. By adopting statistics process control (SPC) and means of industry engineering (IB), there are opportunities for work process diagnosis and improvement. The whole concept and implementation strategy is named Daily Process Management (DPM). Real case study and implementation in shipping container terminal are cited. It is scientifically proved that DPM is workable in shipping industry and could be replicated in other industries.
