Study on the Assessment Indicators of Industrial Hollowing Out in Taiwan

並列摘要

The paper mainly discusses the problems of hollowing out of domestic industries. It is based on relevant literature discussion of industrial hollowing out, and whether it is possible to happen in Taiwan. The paper first construct the process model of hollowing out of industries, and screen the relevant 9 indicators, including the ratio of industrial output to gross domestic product(GDP), manufacturing employment, the average manufacturing wages, fixed capital gross, total surplus, direct investment value (FDI), unemployment rate, the index of labor productivity, and economic growth rate. Next, the grey entropy is used as the math model to analyze the weighting of each impact factor. The results show that slowdown in the economic growth rate has the great impact on the hollowing out of domestic industries, followed by surplus reduction in gross, increased direct investment value, and increase in unemployment rate. However, changes in the industrial structure has little effect, that is, the ratio of industrial output to GDP, and changes in manufacturing employment have little impact on hollowing out of industries, which is correspond to current economic scholars' opinions.
