The Imperfection of Ordinal Grey Relational Grade in Grey System Theory

Grey relational grade in one of the most important topic in grey system theory, the main function is to do measure between discrete sequence, hence, there are many papers being published in the past, especially, in the evaluate transportation effects on air quality trends. In 2007, an air quality analysis paper by using grey relational grade was published, and was citing from 1999's modified grey relational grade in grey system theory. However, the modified grey relational grade in the paper does not exist in grey system theory, and first appeared in grey system theory. Therefore, the paper focused on the 2007's modified grey relational grade, use the four axioms in grey relational grade to prove the correctness of 2007's modified grey relational grade is rational or not. Through the mathematical proof, it is found that 2007's grey relational grade only satisfy the first three axioms, did not satisfy the fourth axiom, means the results in Pai' paper is debatable.
