The study discusses the controversial design of Ancient Chinese Painting stamps using the example of ”the variable value stamp of National Palace Museum (Taipei) Shou-Ping Yun Peony painting, issued by Chunghwa Post Company.” It explores some controversial issues of the Ancient Chinese paintings in the design of the stamps. Through analyzing all of the Ancient Chinese painting stamps by Chunghwa Post Company, the study examines the design and issuing of stamps or the variable value stamps, and solutions are provided for related problems. The design of Ancient Chinese Painting stamps is investigated using ”the way of Text Analysis”, and this debatable incident is further explained based on the analysis and relevant laws. In the future, when issuing Ancient Chinese Painting stamps or the variable value stamps, Chunghwa Post Company and National Palace Museum (Taipei) should maintain good communication and progress. The designer should be aware of the meaning and position of issuing stamps in order to avoid violation of related laws and regulations.
