摘要

學會是一個以學術交流和普及科學技術知識為主要任務的學術團體，它是在人類社會和學科發展的過程中，從自發進行交流活動進而成為自覺交流活動的跨地區、跨部門的組織形式，因此在這樣的基礎上成立的學會更具廣泛性、代表性。學會的學術活動，對領導者和決策部門來說，是獲得信息，發現人才，聽取建議，普及科學知識的重要渠道；對科技工作者來說，是交流經驗，啟迪思想，掌握新知識，開拓探索新領域的重要活動形式。學會只有有效的開展學術活動，影響學術政策，深入基層，才能對廣大會員和科技工作者產生吸引力和凝聚力。中國土壤學會始終貫徹民主辦會的原則，堅持引導不同學術觀點的同仁各抒己見，求同存異，使學術爭鳴健康發展，達到加強團結，為發展我國土壤科學事業共同奮鬥的目的。1945～1996年間，中國土壤學會計組織全國性的各類學術交流會議138次，參加人數11,897人次，交流論文7,740篇，出版專著和論文集35冊，其中出版英文版論文集3冊。學會在組織各類的學術活動和會員代表大會時，除了重視學術交流，進行深入的學術探討外，還十分重視發動會員面對國家經濟建設，特別是農業生產主戰場，全面提高農業綜合生產能力方面存在的實踐問題提意見，出主意，並形成決議，積極向主管部門反映，有許多建議為有關部門採納，發揮了積極作用。

Oriented mainly at promoting academic exchange and popularizing scientific and technological knowledge, societies are academic groups, a trans-regional and trans-departmental organizational form that has developed from one with spontaneous activities to the one with conscientious activities during the developmental processes of the human society and science. On such a basis, therefore, the society is of more extensiveness and representativeness. For leaders and decision-making departments, the academic activities of the society are a major channel, through which to acquire information, discover talents, listen to proposals and popularize scientific knowledge, whereas for scientific researchers, they are an important form of activity, through to exchange experience, trigger new ideas, master new knowledge and open up new fields for exploration. Only by carrying out effectively academic activities, influencing academic policies and going deep into the grassroots can the society have attraction and cohesion to its broad masses of members and scientific researchers.The Soil Science Society of China always follows the principle of running the organization democratically, and sticks to the aim of organizing joint efforts to strive for development of the cause of soil science in China. So it leads members with different academic views to express their opinions and seek common ground while reserving difference, so as to ensure healthy development of scientific debate and unity. During the period of 1945~1996, the society organized 138 national academic symposia or seminars of various topics (of which six were international conferences) with a total of 11,897 participants, received 7,740 papers and published 35 monographs and proceedings, of which 3 were in English. In organizing various types of academic activities and national congresses, the society pays much attention not only to academic exchanges and in-depth academic discussions, but also to mobilization of its members to bring forth their suggestions and proposals in solution to problems existing in the construction of the national economy, and particularly in the field of agricultural production, problems as to how to improve as a whole the comprehensive production capacity of the agriculture. And then, it will draw up resolutions and pass them onto departments in charge. Quite a number of such proposals and suggestions have been adopted by departments concerned and played a positive role.
