Spontaneous Cerebrospinal Fluid Rhinorrhea: A Case Report

Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea is a rare disease. It constitutes only 3-4% of CSF fistulas. The most common complication is meningitis. It is necessary to make a thorough differential diagnosis when ipsilateral clear rhinorrhea is the complaint of the patient. Herein, we report a case of spontaneous CSF rhinorrhea. The patient was admitted for transnasal endoscopic surgery and repair of the dura defect. There were no evidence of recurrence in the past eight months. The diagnosis, etiology, and treatment of this rare condition are discussed.
