The extraction of single mandibular incisor constitutes a therapeutic alternative in treating certain anomalies. Despite the apparent advantages of this extraction in certain clinical situations such as lower anterior crowding or protrusion, it is still reserved as an atypical or compromised option. Single mandibular incisor extraction cases have seldom been published, perhaps because there are few patients who meet the standards for such treatment. However, it might be an effective way of treating certain situations by appropriate case selection and evaluations.
