Study of Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment Procedures on Specialists of Orthodontics in Taiwan

摘要

隨著美容整型的風潮盛行，齒顎矯正學也陸續地發展各種有效且快速的臨床治療技術。本研究之主要目的乃隨機調查由中華民國齒顎矯正學會審核的齒顎矯正專科醫師於臨床上的診斷方法、治療方式，以及使用的矯正裝置。共收集155位齒顎矯正專科醫師之調查表，經資料統計分析後，結果發現目前診斷設備與分析法有數位化的趨勢；大多數專科醫師採用的臨床治療技術則是以傳統標準的治療方式為主，繼而在各治療階段輔以各種新的臨床治療技術。另一方面，新的矯正裝置其使用的普及率雖仍然不比傳統裝置多，從統計資料中卻可以看出在目前的矯正治療中已佔有重要的角色。而絕大多數的專科醫師認為，矯正治療後齒列的維持愈久愈好。

With the trend of cosmetic operation, some effective and fast process clinical treatment techniques have gradually developed in orthodontics. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the clinical diagnostic methods, treatment technique and orthodontic appliances used by orthodontic specialists varied by the Taiwan association orthodontics (TAO). Total 155 effective questionnaires were returned. The results showed many more orthodontists are using digital imaging and analysis. Most specialists supplemented the standard orthodontic technique with various new clinical techniques in every treatment stage. On the other hand, according to the data we may see that the new orthodontic appliances have played an important role in orthodontic treatment, though the popularity of new orthodontic appliances was still less than the traditional ones. And most orthodontists considered the post-treatment retention should be as long as possible.
