Trendy drama is the only category of the Taiwan video productions that can be sold and circulated within Asia. However, due to the limited scale of Taiwan's domestic TV market and the funding problems, Taiwan's TV program-production teams must employ an Asiawide-flexible production strategy based on co-production between Taiwan and mainland China. Finally, through reviewing the ”cross-strait market circuit model”, we conclude that Taiwan's niche capability-”the modern tone of trendy drama” comes from the creative talents who are very in tune with the TV popular culture. Thus, in order to maintain Taiwan's leading advantages over mainland China, the government should continue to take measures to develop more creative talents in the popular culture industry in the future.
