Challenges of Big Data Analytics Applications in Healthcare

The application of big data analytics in healthcare has been expanding in recent years. The new generation of analytic tools allow businesses to capitalize on the increasing amount of digital data accumulated in today’s instrumented and networked world. This paper examines the current practice of big data applications in the healthcare industry and identifies the challenges and issues it is facing. The challenges are discussed from a life cycle perspective. The paper should provide healthcare organizations some guidance in planning and executing their big data analytics initiatives.
